INVESTIGATIVE: Who Was the Impaired Doctor at the VA Hospital?

Thousands of patients looking for answers after learning their medical records are now part of an investigation involving an impaired pathologist. But who is that doctor?
FOX 24 was at the VA town hall meeting yesterday where many patients asked why the name of the physician hasn’t been released yet.

Some patients told FOX 24 Dr. Robert Levy was the pathologist – found to be impaired on the job.

According to several online medical resources – like WebMD and U.S. News and World report, Dr. Robert Levy did work at Veteran’s Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville.

Other media outlets have linked Levy to this case, citing Levy himself as the source.

FOX 24 reached out to levy both by phone and in person, but he did not respond.

And the VA will not confirm that information for us.

On March 1 of this year, a man named Robert Levy was arrested in Fayetteville for driving under the influence.

The report states  Levy was stumbling and slurring his words.

Police say he was quote “intoxicated with depressants.”

But – after a clean blood test — the case was dismissed on March 30th.

The VA has confirmed the impaired doctor was fired just two weeks later — on April 13.

Stay with FOX 24 as we look to uncover more information.
