LOWELL, Ark. (KFTA) — J.B. Hunt is driving into the future with a new fleet of vehicles.
The transport service company has added five all electric medium duty box trucks to its private fleet Wednesday, the first ever in company history.
J.B. Hunt revealed two of the custom eCanter trucks at an event at the company’s headquarters.
This is another step for the company to reduce its carbon footprint.
“We’ve always been trying to look for ways to continue to reduce our carbon footprint, and we do a lot of that with our intermodal operations,” said Craig Harper, chief operations officer for J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. “Last year alone, we saved 3.5 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions by putting that freight on the train.”
J.B. Hunt is the second national carrier to introduce eCanter trucks in the United States.
