It’s lights, cameras, action for Joey Travolta’s Inclusion Film Camp in Bentonville. Travolta is the older brother of actor John Travolta.

Joey Travolta’s company, Inclusion Films, hosts camps for children with autism and year-round programs for adults with developmental disabilities. The company takes them through the process of making a film: fromt he cameras, to the editing and to the lighting.

The program isn’t all about filmmaking. It’s also about the social and life skills that are all part of the craft.

“These are like skills that you need in anything that you go into. And these guys step right up to the plate and it’s unbelievable. Very respectful and it’s the kindness between them. Everybody’s so supportive of each other,” said Travolta.

The camp-goers created a film and it all culminates in a big red carpet screening. Travolta’s organization is also doing a panel about inclusion and will show a clip of the film at the Bentonville Film Festival.

Don’t forget to buy tickets to the festival which is set for May 2-7.
