(FOX24 via FOX16) — McCain Mall in North Little Rock announced on Tuesday that it has become the first “StormReady” mall in The Natural State.

The National Weather Service presented the mall with StormReady certification on Tuesday.

McCain Mall Manager Lisa Meyer said, “The safety and well-being of our shoppers has always been one of our top priorities and this certification signifies that we are now officially prepared for whatever Mother Nature may send our way.”

The mall is also the first location in North Little Rock to receive StormReady certification, according to Meyer.

Steve Drillette with the National Weather Service said, “Due to its preparedness for severe weather and an evident concern for local citizens, we are proud to certify McCain as the first mall to become a StormReady Supporter in Arkansas.”
