The 9th Annual VA2K Walk and Roll happened Wednesday in Fayetteville.

The event promotes health and wellness for veterans and their families in the community. It’s also a chance for the VA to collect donations that will benefit homeless veterans.

Razorback Men’s Track Coach Chris Bucknam kicked off the event.

“For the past couple of years, the U of A has really partnered with us and sent a representative to talk to us,” said Angie Thomas, clinical dietitian with the VA in Fayetteville. “I think it’s very motivational to us to get some words of inspiration from someone that is such an athlete and such a coach, and someone that loves the veterans so much.”

Thomas said that if you would like to make a donation, to contact the hospitals voluntary service department.
