Parishioners say goodbye to Pastor Ronnie Floyd during reception

A church reception was held for Dr. Ronnie and Jeana Floyd Wednesday night in Springdale.

Ronnie Floyd will be taking over as president and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention after 33 years as senior pastor at Cross Church.

Wednesday’s reception was a way for parishioners to say goodbye to the pastor and his wife.

“Dr. Floyd’s been such a vital part of not only Cross Church, but in the community of Northwest Arkansas, and so the church wanted to have one final time to hug him and wish him well, tell him we’re praying for him and, you know, he’ll always be part of the Cross Church family,” said Brian Dunaway, director of communications and technology for Cross Church.

Ronnie Floyd’s son, Dr. Nick Floyd, was voted to become the next senior pastor of Cross Church last month.

Ronnie Floyd’s last service will be at Bud Walton Arena on Sunday.
