FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — Plans to create boundaries for an entertainment district in Fayetteville is on hold, according to a decision made at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
The City of Fayetteville tweeted, “Ordinance to establish boundaries for an Entertainment District is tabled indefinitely.”
All city council members were present when the decision was made.
Sonia Gutierrez, City Council Member, Ward 1, Position 1 said there is somewhat of a plan, for example, “possibly work event-based at first, and then potentially grow it from there so we have a lot of flexibility to take it a little bit at a time and grow at each step.”
Gutierrez said that the city staff is studying alcohol beverage control laws in detail to ensure Fayetteville is in full compliance should it implement an entertainment district.
