Two more suspects have been arrested for reported involvement in a child rape case.
In February, police arrested former Springdale substitute teacher John Russell Ross for statutory rape. Ross was accused of performing digital penetration of a minor while she was “highly intoxicated” and passed out.
According to the police report, Ross did the accused acts at an apartment in Springdale that was not his residence.
On Friday, March 25, police arrested Nadja Gremard, 35, and Christopher Bayley, 35, for their accused involvement of the rape.
According to police, the rape incident occurred at the apartment of Gremard. Bayley was living with Gremard at the time. Police say Gremard, Bayley and Ross allowed the victim and her friend, who was also underage, to drink alcohol at the apartment.
Police also say that evidence from Ross’s phone show that Gremard and Bayley both knew about the rape and attempted to cover it up to protect Ross from prosecution.
Gremard and Bayley were arrested for one count each of Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution, Violation of Arkansas Social Host Law and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
