Remotely Piloted Aircraft Simulator Showcased in Fort Smith

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — The Western Arkansas Military Community Council showcased the resources they get to use everyday.

The Razorback Range Tour put people through multiple simulators, including a remotely piloted aircraft to show the capabilities military members in the Natural State use in real time.

The council hopes the event improves the community’s understanding of the missions and their impact.

“It’s really neat to be able to take this crowd through the simulators to show them what’s really happening here and what an RPA really looks and sounds like. So they get to play around with it and do a little simulation,” said Mike Barr, chairman of the Western Arkansas Military Community Council.

Those at the base say the tours help increase awareness of the dynamic career opportunities that exist for young people.
