New research reveals children in foster care have more mental and physical health problems than their peers in the general population.
According to the Arkansas Department of Human Services, in Arkansas alone there are upwards of 5,000 children in foster care.
Data shows kids placed in foster care were 5 times more likely to have anxiety, 6 times more likely to have behavior problems, and 7 times more likely to be depressed.
They also had higher rates of learning disabilities, ADHD, and asthma.
