The Northwest Arkansas weather forecast for Friday and Saturday indicates that the area will have thunderstorms, high winds, hail and rainfall.

The Public Works, Springdale Police Department and Springdale Fire Department are working to prepare for the severe weather.

Over the weekend crews will be working.

Authorities ask that once the bad weather hits, everyone stay home to avoid the roads. However, if you must drive they have advised to stay away from any barricades or barrels blocking that are flooded.

Citations will be given to drivers who disregard the barricades and barrels.

If you see a flooded road, which has not been closed, call the Police Dispatch at 751-4542.
