FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA)– After a big win last night, the road to Omaha, NE becomes a reality for Razorback baseball fans.
But, there are some issues on the physical road to Nebraska that could slow down drivers.
Razorback fans are ready to watch the hogs play in the College World Series but because of the flooding near the Missouri River, they might have to shift their travel plans.
I-29 north bound in Missouri is completely closed due to flooding.
But, there are ways to get around it.
Danny Straessle with the Arkansas Department of Transportation said the best way to get around is taking I-35 instead of I-29 up to Des Moines, IA then hopping onto I-80 and riding that all the way into the city of Omaha.
But Strassle does warn you might not be the only one going this way.
He said, “A lot of the detour traffic going from North to South will already be taking this route, so if you’re going to the game this weekend, you want to make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to get from one point to another.”
He adds that instead of using your own GPS or map system, to use the local travel guides in the state you’re driving through.
