Rogers man sentenced to prison for murdering boyfriend


A Rogers man will spend three decades in prison for killing his former boyfriend while on drugs.

Don Paul Yates, 54, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for murdering 58-year-old Patrick Quinley.

Yates pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.

Yates claims he overreacted when Quinley gave him a pickup truck and later took it back, according to police records.

Quinley was the legal owner of the vehicle.

In early Septempter, Quinley filed a police report claiming Yates took his pickup.

Quinley was found dead in his home in Rogers on Sept. 25.

Yates admitted to hitting Quinley in the head, killing him and then leaving the scene.

He also admitted to being on drugs at the time.
