Anglers from all over the country were on Table Rock Lake this weekend for the Costa Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) Tournament.
More than 250 competitors spent the week trying to catch the most fish in Table Rock Lake.
The final weigh-in was at Branson Landing on Saturday, May 11.
The first place winner was Scott Parsons of Rogers.
Back in 2016, Parsons finished tied for first in a Costa FLW Series event on Lake of the Ozarks, unfortunately losing on the tiebreaker, according to FLW’s website.
He dedicated that tournament to his brother, Dustin, who was battling kidney cancer; a battle he would lose the Monday after the event, the website states.
“He was my encouragement to fish,” Parsons says. “So this tournament brings back a lot of memories.”
This time, at the Costa FLW Series, the memories were a little sweeter, because Parsons took home the first-place trophy.
On Saturday, the co-angler brought in his biggest bag of the event, 13 pounds, 6 ounces, to get to 36-9 overall, according to the website.
He beat out Robbie Bartoszek by 4 ounces, the website states.
FLW is the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization.
