Search for Johnson County Murder Suspect Is Over After Crash

The manhunt for a murder suspect ended Sunday, February 24, after a pursuit that ended in a crash, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Department (JCSD) Facebook post.

Robert Wayne Baker, 29, is accused of the February 15, shooting and killing of Christopher Farmer, according to the post.

Baker and the victim’s wife, Jackie Farmer, were both arrested after a short pursuit and crash in rural Johnson County on Sunday (Feb. 24) around 11:30 a.m, the post states.

Both Baker and Jackie Farmer were reported in a stolen vehicle and were trying to evade authorities at the time of the accident, according to the Facebook post.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s office said a man, who is an acquaintance of Baker, called law enforcement at 7:15 a.m.on Sunday (Feb. 24) to report his car had been stolen, the post states.

At this time, both Baker and Jackie Farmer are under arrest.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department (JCSD) is looking for a murder suspect they believe to be armed and dangerous. 

Police are searching for Robert Wayne Baker, a white male, 29 years old, and a resident of Johnson County in connection with a homicide that happened on February, 15 on the west end of Hwy 352, according to JCSD’s Facebook post. 

The post said their office has received information that the subject may be in and around the Mills Road area.

Dogs are currently being used to search the area, according to the post.

JCSD said if you see Baker, do not approach him and call the police immediately.
