Monday, February, 18, Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion will visit patients at Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW) in Springdale.

There will be up to 10 characters at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, according to ACNW’s Marketing Specialist, Christina Shell.

The 501st Legion is an international Star Wars costuming organization dedicated to celebrating Star Wars through the creation, display, and wearing of costumes that represent the characters from the sagas, according to 501st Legion’s website.

While the 501st Legion was initially founded to unite Star Wars enthusiasts, according to their website, one of their missions is to bring good to local communities through volunteer charity work.

“The 501st is always looking for opportunities to brighten the lives of the less fortunate and to bring awareness to positive causes on both a local and global scale,” the website states.
