#TopTrenders: Controversial Costume Pulled From Stores


Two retail giants say they will stop selling a controversial Halloween costume.  Walmart and Amazon are vowing to remove this “tranny granny” outfit from their websites.  It includes a dress, head scarf and padding for the breasts and rear-end.  The costume sparked some outrage online, with many saying it’s offensive to the transgender community.  It’s still available from several other online retailers. 

In preparation for the approaching Hurricane Matthew, all Disney properties have closed their doors in Orlando.  That includes theme parks, water parks, Disney springs, and the ESPN Wild World of Sports complex.  President Barack Obama has declared an emergency in the state of Florida and has ordered federal aid to supplement state, tribal, and local response efforts to Hurricane Matthew.

A campaign to bring rapper Drake to Drake University, worked.  Unfortunately, most students were sleeping when the music sensation showed up.  The rapper visited Drake University after his Des Moines performance.  He went on campus and rang the doorbell at the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house.  Unfortunately, no one heard it since it was in the middle of the night that Drake came to Drake.
A bigger museum for lady liberty!  New york Mayor Bill de Blasio was on hand for yesterday’s groundbreaking.  The new design is larger and will be able to handle the 4.3 million visitors that go through the Statue of Liberty every year.  The new Statue of Liberty Museum will have a green roof that will include wildflowers.
