An initiative is looking to teach northwest Arkansas organizations on how to better serve communities with different needs.

TRUE Northwest Arkansas is an initiative of the Arkansas Community Foundation in partnership with the Walmart Foundation and Walton Family Foundation.

A public information session was held this week for organizations interested in participating in its upcoming diversity, equity and inclusion training program.

For organizations interested in participating, the program will teach organizations how to serve communities that are filled with people of all walks of life.

“It’s by really providing a learning resource and opportunity for our community to really learn about a subject that is tricky and it can be uncomfortable and its also really hard sometimes to navigate,” Liz Alsina says.

The pilot program will go for about three years.
