The University of Arkansas celebrated its 146th birthday by going All in for Arkansas and raising $411,175.
The second annual giving day raised the money in a 1,871-minute period, doubling the original goal of $187,000.
Chancellor Joe Steinmetz and his wife led gifted $25,000 for the new Advance Arkansas scholarship initiative.
“I was very excited to see the excellent showing of support from our alumni and friends the past two days,” said Steinmetz. “There were hundreds of people who made an extra effort to make a $25 or $50 gift. Gifts like these helped make this effort an incredible success.”
The largest gift received for the Advance Arkansas scholarship was $125,000.
In addition to an online campaign, the University held an on-campus birthday bash for students, staff and faculty in the Arkansas Union.
