FAYETTEVILLE, AR — University of Arkansas Police alerted students and staff Monday evening to a reported sexual assault involving a female student.
According to UAPD, a student told police she was sexually assaulted on February 26.
The student reported an unidentified white male approached her in the Harmon Avenue Parking garage and asked for assistance to jump start his car. He then asked for help getting home to his sick dog. The student reported the man grabbed her arm with one hand and put the other beneath her clothes before she got away from him, got to her vehicle and drove away.
The student described the assailant as being fifty to sixty years old with white hair. She estimated he was 5’6” tall. He was wearing a white shirt and jeans. The student reported she saw the man prior to getting to the garage and he couldn’t walk very well and appeared to be intoxicated.
University Police are reminding everyone to use caution when walking alone after dark.
UAPD requests anyone who may have information that will help identify and/or locate the suspect to contact University Police at 479-575-2222.
