The Crawford County Sheriff has announced an arrest in the death investigation of a man’s body found in a cemetery.
Sheriff Ron Brown said that Jessica Howard, 24, of Fort Smith, was arrested for capital murder of Gabriel Quispe. She was located around 3 p.m. Wednesday in Fort Smith with Quispe’s vehicle.
Howard confessed to shooting Quispe with a semi-auto handgun at the Dripping Springs Cemetery near Van Buren. Deputies believe Howard lured Quispe to the cemetery because Howard has family in that area.
According to Sheriff Brown, Howard and Quispe share a 4 and a half-year-old child together. Deputies believe the motive of the shooting was robbery and a custody disagreement.
Deputies believe Howard acted alone but will continue their investigation.
