Veterans Learn Confidence and Well-Being Through Acting

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — The Artist’s Laboratory Theatre has partnered with the Veterans Health Care System to host a free eight week acting workshop for veterans.

The Play-A-Part Workshop is held every Wednesday until June 20 in Fayetteville.

The workshop includes storytelling activities that help veterans with building trust, confidence and their well-being.

Air Force veteran Jim Hale said this has given him stage time that helps him when he plays in a band.

“Well this is a new program here; we’re not used to it,” Hale said. “But people are talking about it, and I hope we get more of these types of things here at the VA.”

The theatre has partnered with the VA since August 2017 and the partnership is funded by a grant from the Arkansas Arts Council.
