Volunteer Your Cat or Dog to Donate Blood for Their Four-legged Friends

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KFTA) — The Arkansas Companion Animal Blood Bank at 777 Mathias Dr. in Springdale is looking for animals to donate their blood to save other four-legged friends.

The organization collects and stores dog and cat blood for vet hospitals.

It goes straight to other animals with major trauma or illness.

All canine and feline donors will require mild sedation.

Your dog must be one to seven years old, at least 50 pounds, spayed or neutered, pass a physical and have current vaccines and heartworm prevention.

Cats must be 10 pounds.

If you donate, your animal will receive blood typing, wellness vaccines, intestinal deworming, fecal testing and infectious disease screening.

Dogs will receive yearly blood work and heartworm and tick prevention.

Cats will get a monthly revolution while participating in the program.

If you want to volunteer your cat or dog to be a blood donor and save the lives of other furry families you can contact the blood bank by calling 479-256-4845 or emailing acabloodbank@gmail.com.
