The Washington County Election Commission was prepared with a back up plan in case severe weather hit the local area Tuesday.
If polling locations closed because of storms, the commission would go directly to the voters.
Washington County Election Coordinator Jennifer Price explained their severe weather plan.
“We determined to go ahead and get an extra truck, load it with voting equipment,” Price said. “In the event of a location that was not able to be opened on election morning, we would be able to open up an alternative site in that school district.”
Price said the voting equipment is powered by backup batteries in case of a power outage.
