In Washington County, emergency management encourages you to take precautions before the roads become dangerous.
Department Director John Luther said before it gets icy outdoors, make sure you have fresh batteries and flashlights ready to go.
You’re also recommended to have a full tank of gas in your car.
And, when roads start to get icy around Monday night, if you have to drive, take your time.
Leave early so you don’t rush your commute and risk getting in an accident. And remember to try and avoid hills and bridges, because they can get exceptionally icy when the temps drop.
