BENTON COUNTY, Ark. (KFTA) — Members from the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport Board and the Access Road Task Force met to discuss how they can better improve roads leading to XNA.

The current road leading to the airport hinders cargo and public access from the south, according to XNA Chief Operating Officer Kelly Johnson.

Johnson said she hopes the groups can come together to improve access and business opportunities.

“You know when someone is late for a flight. There aren’t passing lanes, there’s not a good place to go, or when someone is behind a tractor or school bus. This is an issue for us and it does need to be corrected,” Johnson said.

XNA will hold a follow-up meeting about the project on Jan. 18.
