There are some fun family friendly events happening in Northwest Arkansas this weekend.
On Saturday, you have a chance to volunteer, because Lake Fayetteville is holding its annual fall clean up. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and cleaning supplies will be provided, along with a free lunch and water. You can learn more about the clean up here.
In Fayetteville on Sunday, Painting with a Twist is hosting Painting with a Purpose. It’s a fundraising event with half of the profits going to the Peace at Home Family Shelter. Tickets cost $35, and you can register online or by calling the studio. The studio asks that you arrive early to get set up. You can check out the event Facebook page here.
Mom and Me Pumpkin Painting is an event happening in Fayetteville and in Rogers with Imagine Studios. Parents and kids can paint a pair of ceramic jack-o-lanterns. There will be spooky snacks and some other mini-crafts! The event will happen Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. here.
Bentonville is holding its First Friday, with a fall festival theme. There will be live music, food and family friendly activities all happening at the downtown square. This month there will be food trucks opening at 11:00 a.m. You can see the schedule here.
The Bentonville Farmer’s Market is also happening on Saturday. This weekend you have a chance to meet Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She’ll be offering face paintings for your little prince or princess from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for $3 to $5 each. Let Belle know you’re coming, by checking in on Facebook here.
A First Friday Kid’s Night will happen at the Jones Center, and parents aren’t allowed. There will be an obstacle course, thumbed crafts and games parachute activities and more. Kids will get pizza and have a snack. The night will wrap up the night up with a movie. The Jones Center says all the staff members are background checked. You can learn more here.
Springdale is also holding a Downtown Runaround on Saturday. It’s an event meant to showcase the best of downtown Springdale. Runners will see the Razorback Greenway trail, Shiloh Square, local businesses and the Jones Center. The races are staggered through out the morning. You can sign up here.
The Jones Center is showing free movies Friday and Saturday. Friday’s movie is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows at 6:30 p.m. Saturday night, Captain America: Civil War will show at 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, The Jones Center is holding free ice skating and swimming. It’s a part of the center’s funday Sunday series. You can skate or swim for free anytime from 2:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
