15 Abused Pitbulls Looking for Homes After Fighting and Starving

FARMINGTON, Ark. - Fifteen abused Pitbulls were rescued after being found in a Northwest Arkansas home where they were fighting and being starved.

Last week, a Carroll county couple was arrested at their home where the dogs were found.

Right now, Kelley's Animal Services in Farmington is nursing the 15 dogs back to health.

These puppies and their mom along with 4 adult Pitbulls were saved.

The veterinarians said if it took any longer for the dogs to be rescued many wouldn't be alive today.

One animal was in such bad condition it had to be euthanized.

Jessica Kelley, oner of Kelley's Animal Service said this with this level abuse these animals suffered she hopes this is a wake up call here in Northwest Arkansas.

"We weren't going to let these dogs just be ignored, and just die in that house. That's why we stepped up, and did something about it. We just want to tell their story, and bring more awareness this is happening here," said Kelley.

The couple that housed these dogs are now facing animal cruelty charges.

Nine dogs are up for adoption or foster care.
