Efforts are now underway to make sure every Arkansas student graduates prepared for college and the workplace.
ForwARd Arkansas is a group of leaders from education, business, government and communities dedicated to improving public education in our state. ForwARd Arkansas announced five of the first ForwARd communities and Pea Ridge and Springdale made the list.
Schools in those cities will implement new recommendations based on the plan, “A New Vision for Arkansas Education.” The plan includes everything from closing the achievement gap to improving access to higher education. “We’re excited to unveil these new ForwARd communities, which represent the cultural, economic and geographic diversity of our state… We look forward to partnering with them to help expand access to quality pre-K and reach ForwARd’s goal of significantly improving student achievement in Arkansas,” said Dr. David Rainey, co-chair of the Implementation Working Group.
