5-Year-Old Dead After Shooting in Little Rock Home

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA, KARK) -- Little Rock Police said a 5-year-old child died after shooting himself Saturday night inside his home.

Officers responded to the call around 8 p.m. in the 5200 block of Wycliffe Drive.

Police say the victim has been identified as Brennen Esau.

Officers believe no adults were home at the time of the accidental shooting. Brennen was with his three siblings ages 14, 10 and 6.

Neighbors said one of the children came running out of the home asking for help.

The neighbor then went into the home with the child.

"I was just you know trying to tell his brother don't touch him. Leave him where he is because you don't want to cause any more damage than what he already is. It's a really sad situation, it's heartbreaking especially with me having a six-year-old around his age, it's a sad situation."

Detectives continue to investigate the accidental shooting.
