A Local Hotel Provides Shelter for People Affected by Stump Dump


In Bella Vista, homeowners said they are getting pushed out of their houses as the Trafalgar Road fire is causing hazardous living conditions. 

KNWA has been covering the road fire, otherwise known as, ‘stump dump’ since July, and now it is to the point people have to live in temporary housing.

The Courtyard Marriott, 1001 McClain Rd, located in Bentonville, heard of this problem and is now adjusting rates to help people who are looking to escape the smoke coming from the fire. 

The hotel is offering rooms for $59 every Thursday – Sunday until the fire is under control.

All homeowners need to do in order to get the lowered rate is show proof of residency near the stump dump.

An employee at the hotel said the doors are always open as long as there are rooms available.
