A local woman now has a place to call her own.
It’s all thanks to the Arkansas Valley Habitat for Humanity and several volunteers from around the nation.
Angela Yokum is now a proud home owner. Her new house in Van Buren was officially dedicated to her on Wednesday.
“I would have never been able to own a home without habitat for humanity,” Yokum said.
“[We are] so happy to see the fruition of her dreams and hard work to get a Habitat home,” said Mary Anne Meyerriecks, Habitat For Humanity volunteer.
Yocum’s home was built with the help of Air Force Academy cadets who were visiting from Colorado Springs, as well as college students from around the country.
