YELL COUNTY, Ark. (KFTA) — Two people are accused of stealing heavy equipment in Yell County.

Douglas McMinn, 36, of Dover and Wanda Lou Crum, 41, of Hattieville were both arrested in connection with thefts in the Wildcat Hollow Road area outside of Dardanelle in late March, according to a news release issued by the Yell County Sheriff’s Department.

“Investigators allege that McMinn and Crum are responsible for the theft of a Kioti tractor with a front end loader and backhoe, as well as a towable Timberking sawmill,” the news release states.

Investigators are working to recover the sawmill, which was allegedly dismantled and scattered across various Pope County locations by the suspects so to dispose of evidence after they saw social media posts regarding the thefts and a reward being offered, according to the news release.

“Investigators alleged that the couple initially presented them with falsified bills of sale claiming they had purchased the stolen items,” the news release states.

McMinn and Crum face formal charges which could include multiple counts of felony theft, forgery and tampering with evidence, the news release states.

McMinn and Crum are a couple, according to the news release

The couple is being detained at the Yell County Detention Facility in Danville on $50,000 bond each, the news release states.
