The University of Arkansas hosted a lecture with an acclaimed political activist.
Angela Rye served as a keynote speaker on Tuesday evening.
Rye is an attorney and CEO of Impact Strategies, also serving as the Executive Director and General Counsel to the Congressional Black Caucus.
Rye’s message focused on supporting African-American communities and reflecting on the past and the importance to stand together towards the future.
“I think the most important take away would be how empowered our communities would be if we supported one another,” Angela Rye says.
Rye’s also emphasized the idea of “making black, buying black, and giving black.” Three things that Dr. Martin Luther King talked about in his “Where Do We Go From Here” speech.
