ROGERS, Ark. (KWNA) -- The American Heart Association celebrates “Move More Month” with NWA Heart Walk Saturday.

Community and individual teams raised funds for research and educational programs of the American Heart Association.

Cyd King, communications director with the AHA said even though the winds were frigid, plenty of folks showed up to participate in the 1.7-mile walk.

"It's cold, it's cold. I think it got colder as people were here over the course of the morning, but we had a great mascot dance off, that was a real crowd pleaser, a planet fitness warm-up, and I think the crowd was really jazzed, I think everybody was excited to be here," King said.

The NWA Heart Walk is part of the AHA's “Healthy For Good

Movement,” designed to rally millions of Americans to live healthier lives.
