HUNTSVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A Huntsville woman said she caught her on-site apartment manager on hidden camera entering her home with master keys and stealing her prescription pain medications.
She has been a tenant for nearly two years at the Deer Run Apartments.
It is a USDA rural development off of Polk Street in Huntsville, built for low income families.
A woman several Deer Run tenants identify as Shirley Miller was caught on video entering the house.
After looking through various bottles, she pocketed a handful before leaving.
The woman who shared the video with KNWA didn’t feel comfortable showing her face on camera.
She is afraid the apartment management will retaliate against her, but she said she no longer feels safe in her own home.
“I’m not as comfortable in my home anymore. It’s been something. I’m having to install security now to make me feel safer. It’s been awful. I’ve lost sleep and its affected my health and of course, I’ve been short on my prescriptions,” said Lisa Cutter, resident at Deer Run Apartments.
KNWA’s Alex Caprariello knocked on Miller’s door to get her take on the situation.
She is still living at the Deer Run Apartments, less than 100 feet from the building where video shows her stealing prescription medications.
She admitted, in person, that she thought the whole situation was unfair.
However, she refused to answer any questions on camera.
Other tenants said they believe Miller has stolen their cash and belongings while they’ve been out and about, but it is still unclear whether or not she has the master keys to the apartments.
