(via KARK) — State Rep. John Walker, 79, the civil rights lawyer, was arrested by Little Rock police Monday morning on a charge of obstructing governmental operations.

No further official information is available at this point.

Sources said  the arrest involved the videotaping of a traffic stop. From what we’re told, Walker was not directly involved in the stop.

Walker was booked at the Pulaski County jail about 11:30 a.m. on the misdemeanor charge and had bonded out ($1,000 bond) around 1:45 p.m. Monday.

According to the Arkansas Times, Walker championed legislation passed in 2015 that gave citizens a clear right to photograph events that take place in public.
