FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — The Arkansas Department of Transportation announced this year’s recipients for its Transportation Alternatives and Recreational Trails Programs.
More than $2 million will go specifically to Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley.
Under the TAP, local governments will match 20 percent of federal funding to be used for the projects.
The recreational trails program is funded through the Transportation Alternatives Program specifically for construction, restoration and maintenance of trail systems.
A total of 30 TAP projects and 16 RTP projects were awarded nearly $10 million across Arkansas.
