The Arkansas Department of Transportation is conducting a study of the Highway 412 corridor between the Oklahoma state line and the Missouri state line.

A Public Involvement Meeting was held Thursday night at the Carroll Electric Building in Huntsville to discuss what improvements could be made and the planning study ArDOT is conducting. Those in attendance were able to look at various proposals and share their thoughts.

“We’re here to gather information from the public as to what they feel is needed to be done to improve Highway 412,” Managing Director of the North Arkansas East West Corridor Association Gilbert Losurdo explained.

Some of those improvements include the addition of passing lanes to help with traffic congestion behind slow moving vehicles. This was the last of three public involvement meetings ArDOT has conducted in the region at various locations.
