Arkansas AG Supports Robocall Crackdown

Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge backs Bill 514 to crack down on robocalls.

Rutledge said the bill’s passage in the State Senate is a big win for Arkansans.

Rutledge adds it’s imperative for states to work alongside phone companies to reduce the number of robocalls preying on vulnerable people, especially senior citizens.

“More accountability in terms of using technology to block these phone calls. It is imperative that our service providers, our phone providers block these unwanted, unsolicited phone calls,” Rutledge said.

Rutledge adds it’s important for people to know that if the bill is passed it won’t immediately shutdown all robocalls. But she says it’s a step in the right direction.

The bill now heads to the House of Representatives.
