Arkansas Native Photographer Gives Back to Hometown Heroes

News

The saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words” couldn’t be more true for the pictures a local photographer takes for heroes and their families.

Arkansas native Robin Welker is giving back to military and first responders by offering free photo shoots.

After living in multiple states around the country, Welker said she realized she had met a lot of local law enforcement who fly under the radar, and don’t get noticed for the work they do on a daily basis.

She said providing a few free hours of her time is nothing compared to the sacrifice these hometown heroes do everyday.

“I felt like there are so many things that they put on the line, and a lot of them also end up sacrificing, and I believe that deserves attention and a thanks in a way that I’m able, so this is what I’m able to do,” said Welker who owns “Back to Basics Photography.”

Welker said she hopes the Hometown Heroes series continues to expand to other cities and can reach more invividuals and families around the country.
