Arkansas’ Oldest Restaurant About to Celebrate 100 Years

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA) — Arkansas’ oldest restaurant with a deep history in our state will celebrate one hundred years in just a few months.

It all started almost a century ago when C.A. Franke opened a donut shop on Capitol Avenue in Little Rock.

The success later led to a bakery and a fleet of trucks that delivered baked goods from door to door.

Fast forward to today and Franke’s Cafeteria is a buffet of good ole southern cooking and a family atmosphere.

“We work together as a team it’s like a family here,” said Paige Turner with Franke’s Cafeteria. “It’s a family owned restaurant we make all of our stuff from scratch. We don’t make instant potatoes or instant anything. Everything is made from scratch.”

The restaurant will celebrate one hundred years in the natural state.

The business has been passed down through generations of the Franke family and enjoyed by Arkansans young and old
