BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — The Arkansas School Safety Commission made a stop in Bentonville today to help teachers and administrators take steps to keeping their schools safe.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson created the commission after the shooting in Parkland, Fla.
His goal was to use leaders in the community to help administrators and school officials increase safety for their students.
“School security is not something that i think administration, administrators have all the answers for anymore,” said Leslee Wright, communications director for Bentonville Public Schools. “It truly takes parents, students and law enforcement and administration to come together to make sure we take care of each other.”
Wright also said that the commission is planning on making several stops around the Natural State.
