Arkansas State Police Make Change to Amber Alert System

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) – Changes have been made to Arkansas’ Amber Alert system.

For years when an Arkansas child would go missing, and is assumed to be in danger, law enforcement agencies would put out a Morgan Nick Amber alert.

The alert named after an Arkansas girl who went missing from an Alma baseball field almost two decades ago.

But on Friday, a change was announced by Arkansas State Police.

The change will go into effect immediately and will once again be called an Amber alert.
