A community-based art integration project is connecting Fayetteville High School students to Muslims in the community.
“Putting a Face on Islam” is an exhibit featuring 18 Fayetteville High School student-created art pieces.
These photographic artwork and interview excerpts explore local teenagers’ engagement with Islamic and Arabic people who live or study in the Northwest Arkansas community.
“We had participants from all over the world. Several different countries represented and students got to ask questions that they wanted to know about their country, their culture and their faith,” said Cynthia Smith, assistant director for outreach programs.
The exhibition is free and open to the public through Jan. 31.
