Artist Talks Political Climate and Art

One of the artists part of the “Border cantos” exhibit at Crystal Bridges spoke at Northwest Arkansas Community College, Tuesday.

Sculptor and composer Guillermo Galindo has worked on the display for more than five years with photographer Richard Misrach.

Galindo said he believes everything happens for a reason and he doesn’t think the opening of his display is a coincidence.

“I think the art of the 21st Century should be more engaged with the political climate and social justice and more down to earth with change. We live in very difficult times,” Galindo said.
You can see the display at Crystal Bridges in Bentonville until Monday, April 24, 2017.
