Asphalt Work on School Avenue Begins Monday

News

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) – The City of Fayetteville transportation division will be milling and placing an asphalt overlay on School Avenue between Spring and Mountain streets.

Work will take place Monday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 4, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain could delay or extend the estimated work time.

During project work hours, the roads will remain open, but reduced to one travel lane to ensure safety of crew and citizens. Detours will be marked to help with direction. The crew will work to minimize traffic delays but please allow extra travel time or consider an alternate route.

The city has asked citizens to refrain from parking on the street during project work hours as this may interfere with the construction work.

Oil will be sprayed on the roadway prior to the placement of asphalt overlays. If necessary, you may drive on the oil before the asphalt is placed. Please drive slowly and carefully. Driving fast will throw oil on your vehicle and endanger the crew. If oil is thrown on your vehicle, it can be removed with WD-40 spray and paper towels.
