Several Beaver Lake swim beaches will be closed until further notice due to unacceptable E. coli levels, the Corps of Engineers, Beaver Project Office announced on Friday.
The Corps has closed swim beaches at Hickory Creek and Prairie Creek parks, as well as swim beaches in the Horseshoe Bend day-use area and the Rocky Branch camping area on Beaver Lake after routine testing by the Arkansas Department of Health revealed higher than acceptable E. coli levels.
Signs indicating high bacteria levels will be posted. The swim beach will reopen once bacteria levels are within an acceptable range.
