BENTON COUNTY, Ark. (KFTA) — Benton County Election Commissioners have begun preparing for Tuesday’s runoff election.
They started the process of counting absentee ballots, where they say they’ve seen some new trends in voters.
Robbyn Tumey with the Election Commission said her team is seeing an increase of younger voters casting their ballots.
Tumey also mentions they’re seeing an unusually high amount of absentee ballots.
“People are getting more involved in politics, which is great,” Tumey said.
Tumey said there’s a couple of races that are crucial, including the Bentonville mayoral race.
She said this race in particular will affect a lot of people.
