FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — Benton County is in the middle of a five year bridge-plan to address the infrastructure needs of an expanding community.
County Judge Barry Moehring said the work will keep bridges safe for residents.
Moehring also added that the county wants three bridges under different stages of construction at a time.
The construction is being paid for by tax dollars and state grants, Moehring said.
“This is all a part of progress,” he said. “We’ve got progress and prosperity in Northwest Arkansas and Benton County, and some of these bridges are getting more traffic than they were built to handle.”
The first bridge that was completed as a part of the five year plan was War Eagle Bridge, Moehring said.
